ABOUT HOTEL

Mr Nick Pikramenos (pictured to the left) came to the Bahamas in 1955. He worked very hard to support his wife and three boys, working as a successful barber with clients such as Howard Hughes. In 1961, he bought an apartment building and renovated it and eventually turned it into a hotel. Soon he realized it needed a name, after pondering the exact choice that would convey the feeling of the hotel, Nick finally decided he was Greek and the hotel had a Mediterranean flare, he would call it El Greco. And on May 24th, 1974 the El Greco Hotel was opened for business.
